Metter High School Future Business Leaders of America members traveled to Wayne County on Thursday, Jan. 19, for the Region 3 Leadership Conference. To begin the night Metter High School FBLA chapter won third place award for having the Largest Local Chapter Membership and received Team Finalist for Georgia FBLA Monopoly Tournament. Members of the MHS FBLA Club. Metter High FBLA members receive awards at region Many FBLA members competed in performance events and attended workshops while at the conference. Some competitive events were also completed online prior to the conference. An award ceremony concluded the conference. Metter’s Rakxit Patel, Region 3 president, and Dana Alvin, Region 3 reporter, assisted in conducting the Awards Ceremony. The following students placed on the region level and may be qualified to advance to the State Leadership Conference that will be held in Atlanta in March: Alex Spivey, 9th in Accounting; Ben Powell and Seth Holloway, 1st in Banking and Financial Systems; Tamara Andrews, 4th in Business Calculation; Bret Mc- Gowan, 9th in Business Calculations; Jasmine Gordon, Business Communication; Bryce Carpenter, 6th in Business Math; Dana Alvin, 3rd in Computer Applications; Rhett Lanier and Haley Lanier, 1st in Desktop Publishing; Tamara Andrews, 6th in Introduction to Business Communication; Jaymin Patel, 9th in Introduction to Technology Concepts; Rakxit Patel and Rhett Lanier, 1st in Management Information Systems; Allison Clemons and Flor Mauricio, 3rd in Emerging Business Issues; Bryce Carpenter, 3rd in Future Business Leader; Curtis Intravia, 5th in Future Business Leader; Dana Alvin and Starr Howard, 3rd in Business Presentation; Khnu Venson, Erin Boykin, and Shakendra Holloway, 1st in Entrepreneurship; Alissa Herrin and Sarah Yeakle, 3rd in Global Business; Olivia Carmona and Julio Salazar, 3rd in Management Decision Making. Those who qualify at state competition will go on to compete at the national level in Houston, Tx., in June.
