Metter Intermediate School (MIS) students recently participated in a mathematics competition endorsed by the First District Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA) and sponsored through Sumdog. During the competition, which took place October 3-13, students accessed the Sumdog.com website both at school and at home to answer mathematics questions. Each correct answer earned points that counted toward individual student’s scores as well as the overall MIS score. Of the 50 participating schools from 18 surrounding counties, MIS students won the first place honors for both best day’s performance for one of the days of the contest as well as most points earned for the entire competition. Prizes for these accomplishments include a trophy to displayed in the school as well as two Yenka Mathematics software packages with a combined value of $850.
