Candler County School meals will be priced for this upcoming school year the same as last year.
Students are encouraged to take advantage of the free breakfast which is available for all students. Lunch for full paying students is $1.50 at Metter Elementary School and $1.60 at all other schools. Reduced price students pay 40¢ at all schools.
Free and Reduced applications will be available at each school during open house, in school cafeterias, on the Candler
County Board of Education website (www.metter.org) and from the School and Nutrition
office at the CCBOE. It is very important that parents submit applications for new students as soon as possible.
Students are responsible for the cost of the meal until the current application is approved.
If a student received benefits during the 2009 school year, the student will have until Sept. 21 to complete the current school year application under the old benefit.
Students that do not have a current approved application on Sept. 22, 2009 will be charged full price for lunch. Letters to parents providing information of the approval status of the applications are given to the students to return to the parents. Parents may complete one application for all children in the household. To reduce the time required for the approval process, please make sure to fill out the application
completely and provide all requested information.
